Joyce University Names Dr. Patrick Rombalski President
Experienced higher education leader assumes presidency to advance student success and accelerate Joyce’s growth and innovation
Salt Lake City, Oct. 26, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences today promoted Chief Operating Officer Dr. Patrick Rombalski to president as the university builds on record enrollment, expands its reach and advances new approaches to nursing education.
Rombalski joined Joyce earlier this year and has played a central role in driving growth, strengthening university operations and advancing priorities focused on innovation and student success. As president, he will lead the university and report to CEO Josh Knotts as Joyce works to become the most trusted name in nursing education.
The appointment comes at a significant moment for Joyce. This fall, the university welcomed its largest enrollment to date, continued its expansion into new states and launched BSN90, the nation’s first accredited 90-credit pathway to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Rombalski’s appointment reflects Joyce’s commitment to building on that progress while continuing to strengthen the education and experience it provides its students.
“Patrick has spent his career making sure students get the very best from the institutions that serve them, and I’ve seen that firsthand at Joyce,” said Josh Knotts, CEO of Joyce University. “He brings people together around our students and their success. We have big ambitions for Joyce and for what nursing education can become, and Patrick is the right president to help us realize them.”
Rombalski brings nearly three decades of experience across higher education to the presidency, including extensive work in nursing and health professions education. Before joining Joyce, he served as chief operating officer of Chamberlain University, one of the nation’s largest nursing schools, with broad responsibility for university operations across its 20+ campuses, online, post-licensure and graduate programs, serving nursing students nationwide.
His career also includes senior leadership roles at several nationally recognized universities. Rombalski served as vice president for student affairs at Boston College and John Carroll University and taught graduate courses at Georgetown University and Boston College. He earned his Doctor of Education in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead Joyce and mindful of the responsibility that comes with it,” Rombalski said. “This university changes lives, for our students and for the patients and communities they will go on to serve. Joyce has tremendous momentum, and we have an opportunity to build on it by staying focused on what matters most: academic excellence, strong student outcomes and preparing exceptional nurses. We want to open the door to nursing education for more people, and we want every student who walks through that door to receive an education that prepares them exceptionally well for the profession.”
